Registrants have full ASCI member voting rights, can join the leadership of the ASCI Professional Communities and be nominated as Directors on the ASCI Board.
To become an ASCI Registered Associate or Practitioner, you will have to apply for a registration eligibility assessment in the stream of registration that you want to pursue.
Registration Eligibility Assessment
All ASCI professional registrations require you to meet a certain eligibility level regarding work experience levels, professional and educational levels. When you request a registration eligibility assessment, you must provide ASCI with this experience and education details. So, it’s best to gather and prepare this information before you commence the application.
Your application for registration eligibility will be assessed against the ASCI Registration Eligibility Model for ether registration as Associate of as Practitioner.
Requirements
The requirements for registration are as follows:
Work Experience
Specific factors are considered to determine whether the work experience of potential practitioners is relevant to the level of registration. Work experience is assessed on three levels, i.e.:
- Operational experience
- Management experience
- Executive/C-level experience
Professional Certifications
Applicants must be able to submit certified copies of their professional certifications. All such certifications must be current, and evidence to prove currency is required to be presented with each professional certificate. If these certification documents are not in English, officially translated versions need to be submitted and certified copies of the original versions in the original language of issue.
Tertiary Qualifications
Applicants must be able to submit certified copies of their tertiary qualifications for assessment. If these qualification documents are not in English, officially translated versions need to be submitted and certified copies of the original versions in the original language of issue.
Practitioner Interview
If you apply for registration as a practitioner, you will be contacted to schedule a practitioner interview once your eligibility has been confirmed. The purpose of the interview is to assess your ability to apply your expertise, knowledge, and experience. Registration as an associate does not require a practitioner interview.

Registration as an Associate or Practitioner
Subject to meeting the eligibility requirements and in the case of registration as a practitioner, after successful completion of the practice interview, you can apply for formal registration as an Associate or a Practitioner. You may apply up to six months after completing your practice interview.
Once your application for registration as ASCI Associate or Practitioner has been approved, you will be granted formal registrationunderw the ASCI Professional Registration Scheme and issued a Certificate of Registration.
Maintenance of, and future Renewal of Registration
All registrants must maintain their registration through the ASCI Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program, which requires registrants to participate in activities that assist in maintaining and improving competence in their profession, as determined by ASCI. The requirement in this regard is 25 CPD points per year. When you apply for renewal of your registration in three years, you will have to submit evidence of 75 CPD points over the three years before you apply for renewal.
Renewing registration, in all cases, requires 60% or 15 CPD points per year to have been obtained in your stream of registration.
