Registration Maintenance

Becoming registered under the Professional Accreditation Scheme is an esteemed accomplishment. You now represent the highest calibre of supply chain experts in Australia. In keeping with this recognition is the commitment to ongoing professional learning.

Registration maintenance is managed through participation in the ASCI Continued Professional Development (CPD) Program where you redeem continued professional development points for participating in the activities outlined by ASCI. Many of these are free to attend and are made accessible online and are delivered regularly throughout the year. 

Registration Maintenance Requirements

Registered Professionals, Practitioners and Associates must record CPD points every three years. 

As a general rule, points are allocated in the CPD program as follows:

  • ASCI Conference = 20 CPD points (Annual)
  • ASCI Webinars = 1 CPD point each (Free online, weekly)
  • ASCI Leadership Series and ASCI Site Visit Series events (Free, quarterly)
  • ASCI Networking Breakfast Series events = 1 CPD point (Free in each capital city, monthly)
  • Partnered virtual events (Free)
  • Short courses = 2-8 CPD points
  • Certifications = 10 CPD points

CPD points are recorded in your ASCI Profile under Events.

    ASCI and ASCI's collaboration partner, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), have partnered with Anaplan to bring Anaplan's Elevate Program (previously University Connect Program)

    This is a free eight week program that ASCI Members can choose to do on their own, or, meet up with ASCI and CIMA peers at beginning of the week where key concepts from the assigned units are introduced, then another optional office hours session at end of the week. Touch points keep learners engaged and moving through the certification content.

    The program is available to all individuals wishing to upskill to become Anaplan model builders, make a career change, upskill or be used for advanced standing with (some) tertiary institutions. 

    Anaplan Essentials (Pre-learning prior to eight week program) is recommended for learners completely new to Anaplan, model building and planning. The online course introduces connected planning, who Anaplan is, the Anaplan platform and a light exercise on model use / modification.  Learners complete this optional course independently prior to cohort start date. 6-8 hours

    Are you ready to begin your Anaplan journey by developing your model building skillset, expanding your understanding of Connected Planning and learning how leading companies use scenario-based planning to gain competitive advantage in uncertain times? We’re ready to help guide you as you develop Anaplan model building skills to support an implementation or use Anaplan models as an analyst at your own company or launch a new career!

      Train The Trainer

      ASCI is proud to share a workshop from our APICS partner, Supply Chain Mavens Inc.  

      This workshop is designed to enhance your communication skills, leadership development and professionalism.  Attending TTT will increase your confidence and effectiveness as a trainer, consultant, team leader, project manager, salesperson or public speaker.

      TTT is a 16-hr immersive experience over two weekends.  Attendance is strictly limited to 12 slots to ensure individualised coaching.  

      TTT is the first of two required workshops for candidates wishing to teach ASCM/APICS courses or programs.

      Anyone who would like to get more comfortable and effective in these situations:

      Certified Stores And Stock Controller

      ASCI professional certification partner, VCare Academy, has designed the CSSC to increase knowledge of the role of the store and warehouse, the functions of the store and warehouse personnel, how stock is managed and moved into through and out of the warehouse either to an internal customer or an external customer. 

      Course costs include workbook, Online Classes and Exam (plus one resit if needed)

      This 18 week course, (2 hours weekly with an Australian Instructor) is part of ASCI's Continued Professional Development program and will prepare students for the CSSC exam. Once attained, the professional certification qualifies for eligibility points under Registration.

      Module 1: Introduction To Stores And Stock Control

      • List and describe the objectives of store operations; name the different types of warehouses
      • Name and give an explanation of the areas of responsibility assigned to a store
      • Describe the components of a warehouse management system and the operation of a warehouse management system [WMS]
      • Describe a range of leadership styles: identify applications for each
      • Name and describe the principle duties of each job function in the store
      • Distinguish between a policy and a procedure; give examples of each in a store
      • Discuss the importance of providing a satisfactory level of customer service to both internal and external customers

      Learning Outcomes

      • Explain what a risk is; describe how risks can be identified and properly managed
      • Give a brief description of the Occupational Health and Safety Act as it applies to the operation of store activities
      • Identify areas in a warehouse where the potential for theft is evident; outline the actions to minimize those risks
      • Identify a number of potential accident situations; suggest ways to prevent their occurrence
      • Name the various categories of PPE [personal protective equipment]; give examples of the application of each
      • Discuss the roles and responsibilities of each role player in the event of an emergency
      • Explain the importance of maintaining discipline and clear-headedness during an emergency situation

      • Describe the role of ergonomics in improving productivity
      • Name the classes of function-oriented materials handling systems; suggest an application for each
      • Compare and contrast the categories of materials transport systems; give an example from each category

      Module 4: Stock Identification & Stock Control

      • Name the primary purpose of classifying and coding stock in both a manufacturing and distribution environment
      • Compare and contrast bar-coding technology with the use of radio frequency [RFID] identification technology
      • Give the advantages and disadvantages of a range of automated data collection techniques
      • Give the primary purpose of taking stock and reconciling the actual count with the book count
      • Explain how the ABC principle can be utilized in determining the frequency by which an item is counted
      • List the key steps to a stock reduction program; highlight the significance of each step.

      • Give an explanation of the various ways in which picking can be carried out; give the advantages of each method
      • Explain the importance of reverse logistics both from an economic and an environmental perspective
      • With the use of examples, differentiate between the different types of recovery options.

      ASCI and ASCI's collaboration partner, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), have partnered with Anaplan to bring Anaplan's Elevate Program (previously University Connect Program)

      This is a free eight week program that ASCI Members can choose to do on their own, or, meet up with ASCI and CIMA peers at beginning of the week where key concepts from the assigned units are introduced, then another optional office hours session at end of the week. Touch points keep learners engaged and moving through the certification content.

      The program is available to all individuals wishing to upskill to become Anaplan model builders, make a career change, upskill or be used for advanced standing with (some) tertiary institutions. 

      Anaplan Essentials (Pre-learning prior to eight week program) is recommended for learners completely new to Anaplan, model building and planning. The online course introduces connected planning, who Anaplan is, the Anaplan platform and a light exercise on model use / modification.  Learners complete this optional course independently prior to cohort start date. 6-8 hours

      Are you ready to begin your Anaplan journey by developing your model building skillset, expanding your understanding of Connected Planning and learning how leading companies use scenario-based planning to gain competitive advantage in uncertain times?       This program will help you earn the Anaplan Certified Model Builder designation. You’ll complete 3 courses which cover basic and advanced model building skills and our own brand of Agile implementation: The Anaplan Way. During this series, you’ll complete a build-along FP&A model, then expand your Connected Planning to include a Data Hub and Supply Chain model.
